God Sacrificed His Son

Whenever believers discuss the topic of the father that was called to sacrifice his son; we all think about Abraham. But how often do you think about God's sacrificial son? God the Father sacrificed His son, Jesus. Unlike Abraham, the Holy Spirit prevented the sacrifice, but God did not hold back his son's sacrifice for our sins. Let us for one moment think about God and His role and identity as a father and how he gave or placed his son in a sacrificial position for you and me. None of us could give a sacrifice so great. Cain could not give his best. Many of us struggle to pay our weekly tithes and offerings. Others of us struggle to forgive brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers for disagreements that occurred in the past. How great of a sacrifice can you give to God? I am thankful that God is not asking for a blood sacrifice. God is simply asking for us to be obedient, to have faith, and to love. You can read about it in Deuteronomy 10:12-13.
